The weather has been so dismal lately. Nothing but grayness and rain. It must be all these gray days making me think of summer. Yesterday I painted two watercolor seascapes. They took me back to lazy beach days, the sounds of the surf, seagulls and the smell of the salt air. In" The Lone Angler," I was actually focused on having lots of sky. I wanted a great big expanse with clouds. I love watching the sky and it is even more interesting at the beach, where it stretches on endlessly, then melts into the sea. The fisherman was added as a point of interest and to help balance out the overall composition.
